part i.
Character name: Steve Rogers
Fandom: Marvel Cinematic Universe (Captain America: The First Avenger + The Avengers)
Species: Human enhanced with super-soldier serum.
Character powers:
It’s my headcanon that his enhanced senses and reflexes account for his deft shield-hurling , his excellent marksmanship, and his skilled handling of his motorcycle. I also imagine he needs to eat a lot more than the average person due to that high metabolism, and that he requires less sleep—a couple hours’ nap is enough or a full night’s sleep after several days awake.
part ii.
1.) Is it acceptable for your character to be mind-controlled or persuaded? How susceptible are they to mind control, hypnotism, or suggestion?
Yes. Steve would be reasonably susceptible.
2.) Is it acceptable for your character to have their mind read? Does this include traumatic memories? What is their mind like (disturbing, orderly, joyful, surprisingly empty, etc.)? If the character has psychic walls or preventative measures against psychic interference, please explain.
Yes. Steve's mind is very focused, open, and free of judgment.
3.) Are thoughts mentioned in narration acceptable for a telepath to pick up?
Yes.
4.) What about emotions, in the case of an empath? What sort of general emotional reading would such a character receive from yours?
Yes. Emotionally Steve is very open-hearted and compassionate, calm and ready for anything, not easily ruffled, warm, friendly, and caring.
5.) Are there any aspects of your character's mind, emotions, or memories you would like to be picked up, mentioned, or used in character? Conversely, is there anything that should not be noticed, or at least never mentioned?
It’s all right, for those with the capability, to pick up that Steve wasn't always the way he is, that he's not your standard human.
Major memories with heavy emotions attached that might make them easy to pick up by another character include losing his parents young, his deep sense of loyalty and service, his repeated attempts to enlist in the Army to serve, being selected for the super soldier program, viewing Dr. Erskine as a father figure and being gutted by his death, loving and losing Peggy, feeling out of place in the present, and [major spoiler from "The Avengers" that you should contact me about if you haven't seen the film].
part iii.
1.) Physically speaking, what stands out about your character? Imposing size? Physical scarring? Tattoos?
Steve is twenty-five years old. He stands, post-serum, 6’1” and is about 200 lbs or so of HO GOD MUSCLES. Super-soldier serum ftw!
He has blue eyes, blond/brown hair, and very clean-cut, all-American good looks. He carries himself with a quiet assurance, strength tempered with compassion, though he can be pretty awkward in social relations with people, especially attractive women. He has the exact opposite of a poker face—everything he’s thinking or feeling kind of rolls right across his face like that little crawling band of text at the bottom of your screen during news broadcasts. He’s soft-spoken and unfailingly polite except in the heat of battle.
When he’s not in his Captain America uniform he’ll favor vaguely military-type clothing such as cargo pants with many pockets and boots. He’ll also like to wear a nice suit once in a while. He’ll stay clean-shaven and keep his regulation haircut.
And he has the most ridiculously lush, pretty eyelashes, good lord.
2.) Is your character immune to any of the following: poisons, chemical agents, telekinetic influence, radiation, or types of illnesses?
No, but he has a higher threshold and quicker recovery time for such things.
3.) Is your character physiologically different from a human in any way? This can include their blood, skin, hair, et cetera being made up of something unusual or simply differing in construction and durability.
Yes. His senses, reflexes, threshold for pain, endurance, musculature, and healing were enhanced by the super-soldier serum.
4.) Are you amenable to having your character be harmed in any way? How far are you comfortable with injury to you character going? Does this include being fed on by vampires, willingly or unwillingly?
I'm fine with most things. If it's your general brawling-with-others type injuries we can just move forward; for serious maimings, things that would require long recovery periods, death, or vampire feedings let's talk first so I can figure out how to handle it.
5.) Is it acceptable for other characters with abilities of shapeshifting or disguise to imitate your character? Does this include ability mimicry?
Yes. Just give me a quick run-down of what they did while impersonating Steve so I'm prepared for any IC consquences.
part iv.
1.) Can your character's presence or aura be noticed by other characters, and how would it look/feel to them? How would it manifest to a character with no supernatural abilities, if at all?
Apart from the serum Steve is a garden-variety human. If your character would be able to sense the aura of a normal human that's what they'd sense when he was around. To everyone else he’s just a person.
2.) Can your character be affected by magic spells and curses?
Yes.
3.) Can your character be affected by sin and corruption, and be tempted toward expressing their darker urges (of whatever flavor)?
Yes.
4. What sort of sins is the character prone toward, and how might they best be tempted, if you are interested in such an event?
Your standard sins of the flesh wouldn't be much of a temptation to Steve, because he's already pretty immune to them. It would take some doing, but his sense of responsibility and power could be tipped over into pride, his staunch loyalty and clear sense of right and wrong could be tipped over into being heavily judgmental of or feeling superior to others.
5.) Are you amenable to the character receiving prophetic visions, including as part of a plot?
Yes.
part v.
1.) Is canon-puncturing or fourth-walling acceptable? We encourage people to tread extremely lightly with allowing their character to learn they are fictional.
No.
2. Is threadjacking allowed? Under what circumstances?
I'm okay with threadjacking in open network posts. If you want to join a log give me and any other players involved a heads-up and we'll work it out.
3. Is it acceptable for canonmates that are updated further than yours to inform your character of events yours has not yet experienced?
Yes.
4. Are there triggering or upsetting topics you would like other characters to avoid mentioning to yours for the sake of continued comfort (racist words, homophobia, self-injury, etc.)?
I don't have anything that's an absolute, don't-ever-bring-that-up trigger. If something does start to make me uncomfortable I will speak up; likewise, I will completely respect others' triggers and I want you to speak up if you're not comfortable.
I can probably deal if it's legitimately IC for your character to say certain things or behave certain ways and it's handled well.
